What is the Mediation Method?
Mediation (通關) applies when two elements in the chart control each other and stand in taut opposition: the element that bridges (通) between them becomes the Useful God. For example, when Metal and Wood contend at similar strength, the Water between them becomes the mediating Useful God, resolving the flow as Metal-produces-Water and Water-produces-Wood. It holds only when the two energies are evenly matched; if one is weak, Support-Restraint applies instead.
