從旺
Following the Dominant (從旺)
Method
- Special pattern
- Follows the dominant force
- Not a balance restoration
In brief
In Follow and Transform patterns, the method follows the already-dominant flow instead of restoring balance.
What is the Following the Dominant (從旺)?
Following-the-Dominant (從旺) is used when the Day Master leans so far one way that ordinary Support-Restraint (restoring strength-weakness balance) does not hold. In special Follow and Transform patterns, the Useful God is the element that rides the already-dominant force — not the one that would rebuild the weak side. The engine names this method only when that special pattern actually obtains. Following the flow does not mean the flow is fortunate, and it is not a mark of success — it is a reading that this chart's grain is to ride rather than to restore.
How to read it
Do not read it as ordinary Support-Restraint — look to the side that does not fight the dominant flow.
