In brief
A place that does not fill — the grain of spirit and emptiness over matter.
One example of the current MYEONG rule. The complete reference is below. This is not a personal star finding or fortune rating.
The picture uses the Jia-Zi ten-day group. The two unpaired branches depend on the group containing the day pillar. MYEONG checks year, month and hour branches, excluding the day pillar itself.

What is the Void?
The Void (空亡) points to the two branches left empty in the sixty-jiazi cycle; energy that touches those places is read as being 'emptied.' Rather than mere futility, it is seen as the grain of setting down attachment and finding fullness in formless values — spirit, religion, scholarship.
How to read it
Emptiness is not lack but room to be filled by a different vessel.
